MENYWelcome to the Peder Balke Center
In a listed building from the18th century, gorgeously situated on a hillside facing the largest lake in Norway, you will find our gallery. Inside is the ballroom which Peder Balke decorated 12 wall paintings in 1834.
In addition to the wall paintings, we host temporary exhibitions featuring the work of contemporary artists throughout the summer season.
There are footpaths and trails in the area which lead to the beach and our outdoor sculptures. The park, sculptures, and tea pavilion are always available to the public.

Throughout the summer season, we offer group tour -In Peder Balke's footstep's- where you will gain insight into Peder Balkes's artistry and the history of the farm.
Prices: Minimum NOK 1000 per tour, or NOK 100 per person.

The shop -The four seasons- is an interior design shop located in the main building, where you will find design goods, local goods and food products.
